I was pretty much born a gearhead, maxing out the erector set at age 12 and moving on to motorizing my bicycle at age 13. Built and raced sports cars, then dirt bikes until injuries preempted. Moved on to building street rods and later coal fired power plants. At age 50 I discovered the world of four wheel drive and bought the first Scout for Brian. I just kept finding Scouts looking for a home. One was even given to me by a total stranger who was watching a bunch of us coming up Daniel trail in Uwharrie. I currently have four running Scouts, but only one tag. I have no aspirations to build the biggest and baddest, only to get around on all the trails and enjoy the good company of other wheelers.
