The group begins to assemble at the first trail off of the main road. |
We had a good number of vehicles show up for the ride. I think the total number was over 40 vehicles. |
This waterfall is the first obstacle on this trail. I think the trail is called "rail bed" (see http://www.kymc.org/rail_bed.htm). |
The waterfall can get a little steep. |
The thing I hate about a digital camera is that it takes a second or two before it will take the picture. When I tried to take this shot, I had a great picture of the undercarage of Wayne's jeep. He stood up pretty straight, but did not hold the pose for long. |
A few more assemble for the ride. |
Yes, that's the trail. |
On out the trail, ther are some more interesting parts. |
Joe's scout stands up trying to get up this ledge. |
It would not be a trail ride without someone breaking something. These guys are working to put the steering arm back into David's jeep. |
Just finishing up and ready to go on up the trail. |
David going up the same ledge that Joe did a few minuites earlier. |
One nice thing about this area is that almost anything is fair game if you want to try it. |
Back up the rock garden. |
Here we sit at the top of this hill. You can see that we encountered some mud along the route. |
But the view from up here is beautiful! |
In all directions. |
We had split up into multiple groups to keep the ride going. This group is going down one side of this mountain as we go down the other. |
We meet up a another rock garden. |
Joe gives it a run. |
And the crowd watches for something to break (they did not see anything break). |
Larry tries this rock garden also. |
With Bill following close behind. |
This is where Larry and Bill decided to exit the rock garden. The rock where Larry's front right tire is on proves to be a challenge. |
That rock that Larry was on catches Bill and break's a driveshaft. |
